Gwinllan Conwy Wines ….. Llangwstenin

First planted in 2012, the vineyard has grown each year to over an acre with a thousand vines . These special hybrid grape varieties are chosen specifically to work well with the soil and climatic conditions in North Wales. These varieties impart a unique fresh and delicate style to the wine.

Gwinllan Conwy was founded by wine enthusiasts Colin and Charlotte Bennett. They work together managing the vineyard, also assisted by their girls Tillie and Hattie at harvest time. Colin and Charlotte invite you to join them for a unique vineyard experience in a beautiful part of North Wales.

The Wines

There are five wine varieties each with its own refreshing individual style.  Take a look at the tasting notes to find which one is perfect for you!

The inspiration for the patterns used to distinguish the different wines came from the old Tudor buildings in the town of Conwy.

Rondo, Conwy Valley Wine

A medium bodied red wine with blackberry aromas and hints of vanilla from the light use of oak. Perfect on a summer evening with local salt marsh Welsh lamb cutlets, chargrilled on the barbeque or with a steaming bowl of ‘cawl’ on a cold winter night!

Phoenix, Conwy Valley Wine

This balanced medium dry wine has subtle aromas of pear and green apple which develop on the palate. It’s perfectly matched with soft cheese. We enjoy it with the delightful goats cheese made just over the hill.

Rose Wine, Conwy Valley Wine

A fruity, complex wine with floral aromas and background of red berries. Great with Asian Cuisine or simply enjoy as an aperitif on a warm summers day.

Sparkling Wine, Conwy Valley Wine

A complex aromatic sparkling wine made from Solaris grapes. Its delicate mousse and balanced fruit flavours result in an exceptional wine that is perfect for celebrations and special occasions.

Solaris, Conwy Valley Wine

A delicate, refreshing crisp dry white wine with herbaceous aromas. We like its balanced acidity which is perfect with the renowned oysters, mussels and lobsters found around our North Wales coast.
